Record for a work by Edward Hopper

Edward Hopper’s work Chop Suey flew off at the auction at Christie’s in New York.

 

 

At a sale dedicated to the private collection of American businessman Barney A. Ebsworth, who died last April, the painting Chop Suey by artist Edward Hopper was sold for $ 92 million, a record of sale for a work of this artist. Painted in 1929, the canvas acquired in the 1970s at a price of 170 000 dollars, goes to a private collector.
